LEARNING TO WALK

Well everyone saw the cool little standing wheelchair. It was time to graduate even from that begin the process of teaching her to walk. She now has what I call a miniature old person walker. This walker will actually teach her how to put one leg in front of the other and really stand on her own weight and hopefully begin to build some muscle in her leg's and ankles. We go Friday, Nov. 6th to see a neurologist and see to what extent her nerve damage is in her leg's from the surgeries. On an unrelated subject we bought her a sit-n-spin and she know's how to sit on it and spin..But this is the prefered method of enjoying this toy....LOL

SWINGING AND SLIDING

So Devin learned what it is to swing and get to slide down a slide. She had a blast as we entertained her during Derrick's baseball banquet.

Many Faces of Devin

So it's been a little bit since I posted and just thought I would update everyone.Devin is doing great and taking after her very demanding mother everyday. I have just some random pictures of Devin that I will share and I will have more post later.

AFO'S

Well we went this morning to TSRH for Devin's fitment of her AFO's and her walking apparatus,shoes. Of course it got a little emotional at times seeing that beautiful baby standing on her own to feet. Here are a few pic's from this morning..

M.R.I.

We took Devin to have a M.R.I. performed to check her spine for any abnormalities, and of course any sign of scoliosis. We hope to have the results in the next few days. Of course they had to put her to sleep, which is always a lot of fun. They have to give her that goofy juice (as they call it) and she is a barrell monkey's for just a few minutes before it just knocks her out. Here are some pic's of us waiting for the medicine to take affect and after wards. I am also including some pic's for general purpose so everyone can see how big she is getting. We also have progress in her leg's. Her therapist estimates a 70% range of motion in her right leg, but unfortunatly only a 5% in her left. She pushes up into the crawling position on all four's except that her left leg wont bend, it just goes straight behind her. She also goes tommorrow to TSRH to get her afo's (leg braces) and shoes and standing frame, so that she can begin to learn to stand on her own two feet..(YEAH). Will post pic's as soon as we get them with her brace's on.

HERE ARE THE PIC'S OF DEVIN SITTING UP BY HERSELF. I HAVE ALSO INCLUDED PIC'S OF DEVIN'S FIRST SWIMMING POOL EXPERIENCE AND HER FIRST CAMPING TRIP. SHE WENT CAMPING AT LAKE TEXOMA THIS PAST WEEKEND AND AS SHE DID DURING FOOTBALL SEASON LAST YEAR. SHE AGAIN AMAZED US AT HER ABILITY TO ADAPT TO THE SURROUNDING'S AND JUST BE A JOY TO DO VARIOUS ACTIVITIES THAT YOU CANT DO WITH A LOT OF CHILDREN HER AGE.

OUR GOOD FRIENDS THE BUTLER'S DECIDED TO RENEW THIER WEDDING VOW'S. IT WAS A VERY NICE CEREMONY. SHIRLEY,GENENE,CHARIS,AMY,AND SUSAN ALL DID A GREAT JOB PUTTING THIS TOGETHER. BUT OF COURSE MY REASON FOR POSTING IS THE PICTURES OF THE TWO MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMEN IN THE WORLD TO ME...NEED I SAY MORE, HERE'S THE PIC'S TO PROVE IT.
